Esomeprazole injection is a drug belonging to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). This medication decreases the amount of acid produced by the stomach. Esomeprazole injection is given through intravenous infusion for the treatment of certain conditions, including GERD, peptic ulcers, and other conditions associated with excess stomach acid when oral administration is not advisable.
